One day at the end of class little Billy's teacher has the class go home and think of a story and then conclude the moral of that story. The following day the teacher asks for the first volunteer
to tell a story. Suzy said, "Sunday we load the chicken eggs on the truck and drive into town to sell them at the market. Well, one Sunday we hit a big bump and all the eggs flew out of the basket and onto the road." The teacher asks for the moral of the story. Suzy replies, "Don't keep all your eggs in one basket."

Next is little Lucy. "Well, my dad owns a farm too and every weekend we take the chicken eggs and put them in the incubator. Last weekend only 8 of the 12 eggs hatched." The teacher asks for the moral of the story. Lucy replies "Don't count your chickens before they're hatched."

Last is little Billy. "My uncle Ted fought in the Vietnam war; his plane was shot down over enemy territory. He jumped out before it crashed with only a case of beer, a machine gun and a machete. On the way down he drank the case of beer. Unfortunately, he landed right in the middle of 100 Vietnamese soldiers. He shot 70 with his machine gun but ran out of bullets, so he pulled out his machete and killed 20 more. The blade on his machete broke, so he killed the last ten with his bare hands". The teacher looks in shock at Billy and asks if there is possibly any
moral to his story. Billy replies, "Don't mess[i changed e word] with uncle Ted when he's been drinking."

The Perfect Worker
1 Bob Smith, my assistant programmer, can always be found
2 hard at work in his cubicle. Bob works independently, without
3 wasting company time talking to colleagues. Bob never
4 thinks twice about assisting fellow employees, and he always
5 finishes given assignments on time. Often he takes extended
6 measures to complete his work, sometimes skipping coffee
7 breaks. Bob is a dedicated individual who has absolutely no
8 vanity in spite of his high accomplishments and profound
9 knowledge in his field. I firmly believe that Bob can be
10 classed as a high-caliber employee, the type which cannot be
11 dispensed with. Consequently, I duly recommend that Bob be
12 promoted to executive management, and a proposal will be
13 executed as soon as possible.

Addendum:
That idiot was standing over my shoulder while I wrote the report sent to you earlier today. Kindly re-read only the odd numbered lines.

Why I Fired My Secretary

I woke up early, feeling depressed because it was my birthday, and I thought, "I'm another year older," but decided to make the best of it. So I showered and shaved, knowing when I went down to breakfast my wife would greet me with a big kiss and say, "Happy birthday, dear." All smiles, I went in to breakfast, and there sat my wife, reading her newspaper, as usual. She didn't say one word. So I got myself a cup of coffee, made some toast and thought to myself, "Oh well, she forgot. The kids will be down in a few minutes, smiling and happy, and they will sing 'Happy Birthday' and have a nice gift for me." There I sat, enjoying my coffee, and I waited. Finally, the kids came running into the kitchen, yelling, "Give me a slice of toast! I'm late! Where is my coat? I'm going to miss the bus!" Feeling more depressed than ever, I left for the office.

When I walked into the office, my secretary greeted me with a great big smile and a cheerful "Happy birthday, boss." She then asked if she could get me some coffee. Her remembering my birthday made me feel a whole lot better.

Later in the morning, my secretary knocked on my office door and said, "Since it's your birthday, why don't we have lunch together?" Thinking it would make me feel better, I said, "That's a good idea." So we locked up the office, and since it was my birthday, I said, "Why don't we drive out of town and have lunch in the country instead of going to the usual place?" So we drove out of town and went to a little out-of-the-way inn and had a couple of martinis and a nice lunch. We started driving back to town, when my secretary said, "Why don't we go to my place, and I will fix you another martini." It sounded like a good idea, since we didn't have much to do in the office. So we went to her apartment, and she fixed us some martinis. After a while, she said, "If you will excuse me, I think I will slip into something more comfortable," and she left the room.

In a few minutes, she opened her bedroom door and came out carrying a big birthday cake. Following her were my wife and all my kids. And there I sat with nothing on but my socks.

Working With The FBI

The phone rings at FBI headquarters.
"Hello?"
"Hello, is this the FBI?"
"Yes. What do you want?"
"I'm calling to report my neighbor Adrian Thibodeaux! He is hiding marijuana inside his firewood."
"Thank you very much for the call, sir."
The next day, the FBI agents descend on Thibodeaux's house. They search the shed where the firewood is kept. Using axes, they bust open every piece of wood, but find no marijuana. They swear at Thibodeaux and leave.
The phone rings at Thibodeaux's house.
"Hey, Adrian! Did the FBI come?"
"Yeah!"
"Did they chop your firewood?"
"Yep"
"Great, now it's your turn to call. I need my garden plowed."

ok, enough. MUG ECONS!!!

pressing issues!
| 7:06 PM
Heyy,

Theres a couple of things we gotto settle. So please try to offer suggestions and help whenever you can k.

1. GEMS
Yea we need to find something to learn. It can be anything under the sun haha. But I think it would be easier if we choose to learn something that doesnt involve too much logistics to make it easier, something like singing or dancing or learning a new language.

2. Class CIP
Anything that we can do to serve the community (:

3. Class T-shirt
OK 6B i know you people want a class t-shirt. SO we need someone to design one. Preferable something that looks zai and cool. I know the banana shirt is cute but erm.. u guys serious u wan to wear it out? Moxiang suggests a class t-shirt or jersey that's either personalised or with all our names printed on the back.

4. STJ VENUE !!!
VERY IMPORTANT!!!!! STJ is like just 1 week away and we haven settled the venue. Gotto decide fast and book the place!

Random.
| 7:42 PM
hey ppl!!!
jus some random stuff i "hunt" from e internet.

-If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days, you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee.
-If you fart consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create an atomic bomb.
The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to squirt blood 30feet.
-Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour. (so what are you waitingfor?)
-Humans and Dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure. (Hmm...)
-The strongest muscle in the body is the TONGUE. (Surprised? )
-It's impossible to sneeze with your eyes open.
-You can't kill yourself by holding your breath.
-Every time you lick a stamp, you're consuming 1/10 of a calorie.
-Did you know that you are more likely to be killed by a champagne cork than by a poisonous spider?
-Right-handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left-handed people do. (Left-handies take note!!)
-There are 333 squares of toilet paper are on a roll.
-The only nation whose name begins with an 'A', but doesn't end in an 'A' is Afghanistan.
-The world's youngest parents were 8 and 9 and lived in China in 1910.
-If done perfectly, any rubix cube combination can be solved in 17 turns.
- Try to type "Stewardesses". It is the longest word typed using only the left hand.
-There are more than 40,000 illegal offences in Singapore.

excessive wakefulness
Monday, March 24, 2008 | 10:08 PM
hey peeps,
was bored by the geog notes about tors and inselbergs...sigh...
so i surfed the net and tada! here are the consequences of EXCESSIVE WAKEFULNESS aka sleep deprivation. so if the following scenarios sound familiar (esp no.5), you should be warned!

Get too few zzzzz and you could suffer one or more of these five distinct consequences, :

  • No. 1: Your reaction time slows and you have trouble paying sustained attention. This is especially dangerous if you're driving either in bumper-to-bumper rush hour traffic or at high speeds on lonely roads.

  • No. 2: You can't focus on multiple sources of information. The body's defense is to ignore some pieces of information so it can concentrate on others. But what are you disregarding and what effect could that have? Example: You're so busy trying to stay awake and not hit the car in front of you that you don't notice you're running out of gas.

  • No. 3: Creativity suffers greatly. Sleepyheads who try to work or study often get stuck on bad solutions--and then can't think of anything better. Example: Try solving calculus problems at 2 a.m. after a long day in school.

  • No. 4: Your memory suffers. When you're sleepy, you really cannot remember as much as when you're awake. A sleep-deprived brain also can't learn new information well.

  • No. 5: Your brain can't do some critical things in a hurry. It's as if you're operating in slow motion. You'll likely experience microsleeps, which are repeated periods of one to 10 seconds in which you just zone out and your brain processes no information as it struggles between a state of sleep and wakefulness. The result? Inattentiveness.

the green cake
| 5:23 PM
Happy Birthday to our CT Rep cum BBoy Dusk!

well since i'm here already i might as well blog about what happened today...

elson and chai and one more person (sorry, i don't know who!) went to bengawan solo (is that how you spell it?) and bought this GREEN cake. I mean of all the flavours they HAD to choose the kaya pandan cake. Haha anything to be special. But on the bright side it had cute little PINK flowers which were really sweet and made it so much more prettier. :)
anyways thanks to the people who bought the cake!

we were supposed to have the cake-cutting session in the morning, but then even the birthday boy was late so our 7am celebration was postponed to a 2pm celebration. and... chai lost her lighter! so we went around hunting for a fire source. we tried fishtank, or blurp blurp as its affectionately called, but they said they don't have lighters since they don't smoke. hmm ok...
in the end we somehow got the candles lighted, and our very strategic spot for the whole song-singing candle-blowing session was the dark corner of the block A staircase right outside the toilets! yep. anyway lucky jiahan had 3 wishes, and 1 of them is for us not to die in 4 years. yay for us.

alright...my physics notes are calling out to me...sigh...

~eileen~

p.s. this font colour is supposed to be pink! but pink is too light against the black background...how sad

four years.
| 6:30 PM
Hello world!
Actually, just hello 6B; but because the world is ending in four years anyway, i thought it prudent to address everyone.

Okay guys! For those of you who haven't heard A-Han's most dreadful account of how it all ends, here it is. For those of you who have, here it is, ANYWAY.

Right, so the world ends in four years.
Why? Because the icebergs feel like melting lorh.
Terrible, I know. But don't panic! Here's what you, we, me, and other assorted entities can do, assuming ceteris paribus (heehee):

FIRST, we eat veggies. Because veggies are not only green, they are also good for your health. Granted, you might go green after eating them, but you're saving the world! You know how it is.
-proceeds to munch on convenient meat pau.-

SECOND, we uhh. tell cold jokes? So we alleviate the stress on the environment, and subsequently, the icebergs themselves. This is because people and things the world over are all one big farmily. The icebergs will thus feel loved that we are doing so many things for them and might decide not to melt after all, the little buggers.

THIRD, we kill cows. Because they not only produce a frigging large amount of methane, they also produce a frigging large amount of cow pats. Last year, highschool had an adventure camp of sorts to Nepal. It wasn't so much about climbing mountains, it was more of climbing mountains, AND evading cowpats. Inconsiderate buggers. Also, beef is delicious. Leather is good too.

FOURTH, we can all give up and go study rocks. That would make me very happy, yay.

FIFTH, and this is the best so far, we study physics. Because hwachong students are all guai kias (except elson, that one guailan kia >( ) who can prioritise and mug. Everyone knows this (if you don't, you noob!) but physics is in seven frigging days and the only thing I know about it is that physicists shoot monkeys (or winnie the pooh barring the former) for peace of mind. Go figure.

Yeah, there you have it. The world ends in four years, and there's nothing you, we, me, and other assorted entities can do about it.

Other than go NS KNN!

Maybe we'll go out with a bang, like the dinosaurs. You know the asteroids? That'd be awesome, like a huge extended fireworks display! Makes the one they have on newyears' eve seem like damp squibs, yay.

Makes me look forward to 2012, actually.

boo.
